Forgiveness is how we make space for joy, peace, and abundance to flow freely into our lives. It’s about accepting that the past happened the way it did and understanding that holding onto the pain only blocks our ability to experience the present fully. Forgiveness is not about excusing what happened or pretending it didn’t hurt. It’s about releasing the emotional and energetic grip that the past has on you. By holding onto grudges, anger, or pain, we keep ourselves energetically stuck, preventing our emotional and spiritual growth.

Think of forgiveness as a spiritual detox. Just like toxins in our bodies can cause illness, emotional toxins from past wounds can block our ability to receive love, joy, and abundance. When we forgive, we release these blocks and allow healing energy to flow through us. Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door to inner peace.

Forgiveness doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a process, and like any healing journey, it takes time and intention. But with the right tools and mindset, you can free yourself from the emotional weight you’ve been carrying.

💗 Acknowledge the Hurt: Before we can forgive, we have to acknowledge the pain. Denying or suppressing your emotions only causes them to fester. Take time to sit with the pain, to fully feel it, and recognize the ways it has affected your life.

💗 Shift Your Perspective: One of the most powerful steps in forgiveness is shifting your perspective. Instead of asking, "Why did this happen to me?" begin asking, "What did this experience teach me?" Every difficult experience holds a lesson, and by finding that lesson, you can begin to let go of the hurt.

💗 Let Go of Being ‘Right’: Often, we hold onto anger or resentment because we feel we were wronged, and we’re waiting for the other person to acknowledge that. But waiting for someone else’s apology or validation keeps you stuck. Forgiveness is about releasing your need for justice or validation, and instead, choosing peace. This is where Oprah’s quote rings so true—accepting that the past couldn’t have been any different is essential for moving forward.

💗 Use EFT Tapping: One of my favorite tools for releasing emotional pain and resentment is EFT Tapping. Through tapping on specific meridian points while acknowledging the pain, you can release the emotional charge attached to the memory. EFT has been a game-changer for both myself and my clients when it comes to forgiving and letting go.

💗 Journaling for Forgiveness: Writing can be incredibly cathartic when working through forgiveness. Try writing a letter to the person you’re forgiving (you don’t have to send it!). Let it all out—the anger, the sadness, the frustration. Then, write about what you’ve learned from the experience and why you’re ready to let it go. Journaling can help you see the situation from a higher perspective, making forgiveness more accessible.

My Personal Journey with Forgiveness

I’ve been through my own emotional wounds and trauma, and forgiveness has been a major part of my healing journey. It hasn’t always been easy, but I can say with complete certainty that forgiveness has transformed my life. By letting go of past hurts, I’ve been able to open my heart more fully, raise my vibration, and attract more abundance and joy into my life.
